The mural, Esperanza (Hope,) was gifted to the city by the artist, Gabriel Calle Arango of Columbia, in recognition of Pawtucket having a Columbian born woman, Sandra Cano, elected to the State Senate. Arango, a self-taught artist, has painted numberous murals in his native Columbia as well as other locations around the world, most recently in NYC and Madrid.
