Minera Sanders by Blanchard

Minera Sanders was the first librarian for the Pawtucket Library. She was an innovator in the field of libranian admistration and under her direction was one of the first libraries in the country to open its stacks to the public and to open the doors of the library on Sundays so mill workers would have access. She is also well known for welcoming children under the age of fourteen into the library and for providing books and small scale furniture for them as well as collaborating with local schools to encourage the use of the library by school children. Sanders died in 1912.

Nothing is known about the artist.
