Walter Horak received a BA in Art History, Harvard University, Master of Arts in Teaching, Rhode Island School of Design and Master of Fine Arts, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. He lives in Little Compton, RI.
Horak uses the tradition of cast bronze figurative sculpture to make statements about fragility, tension, balance, and temporality. His inspiraton comes from diverse sources including calligraphy, modern dance, plant forms, geology, and from the efforts of other artists, ancient to contemporary.
His sculptures have been shown in many group and solo exhibitions and galleries and is represented in numerous private and public collections in the United States and abroad.
